Dragon Heart ....

Rubies , gems and sapphires 

Filled every nook and cranny 

Blazing , shining just like fire 

Treasures there were many ...

Richer than the richest '

Mightier than the mightiest 

Braver than the boldest 

But sadder than the saddest.

Castles , horses , food and wine 

Land till eyes could see ,

What more could a want be for 

What more could it be ?

Breath of fire and wings of steel

Sword like talons could make all heel

As when he rose into the purple sky 

The suns radiance he could easily steal .

Then why the heart weeps tears of blood

Why happiness is a treasure unseen 

Peace his heart has never known 

Gloomy his castle has always been ...

The highest tower held his captive 

A princess as gentle as ever  

Her sadness could melt a heart of steel  

Such beauty he had seen never .

When her eyes shed a single tear 

His heart flooded with tears of blood 

When a sigh escaped her lips 

Just lament he felt he should

Today no sob nor sigh he heard 

Not even a message she send 

Fear he felt , thefirst time ever

As if his world would end.

What he saw , chilled his every bone 

Lifeless she lay there still 

He felt his heart cry aloud and clear 

Give My life for her I will 

Not thinking twice , not feeling pain 

He ripped his chest of steel 

And in it lay a heart so black 

The dragon heart with no feel !

He looked at the heavens In earnest prayer ,  

Spare a life so pure 

Take my heart , but live she must 

Of only this am Sure

And magically , just as he wished 

His heart filled her with life 

And as she woke , the peace he felt

  The missing treasure he realised ! 

 As his last breath ebbed away 

He realised he had done his part ,

With pain she kissed him gratefully  

 The dying Dragon Heart .
