Eyes that touched the Soul ...

''Around and as far as the eyes could see , 

              People ,people and more people ! 

              Wonder what in this fair could be , 

              That made them feelsocheerful ?   

 

           I stood alone in the maddening rush , 

                     Angry at the deafening din 

          Though gaeity and laughter spread all around 

                The happiness refused to sink in !  

             And then i looked into a pair of eyes

                  That looked deep into mine , 

            The wondrous pair within which lay , 

                The brownest shade so fine ... 

           Many a pair of eyes have i watched 

                  But never a pair as these , 

         One look at them and in that instant , 

            My heart was filled with peace .   

          Who are you handsome stranger ,

            unknown yet so familiar ! 

      Though never have i seen you before , 

          Yet you seem so near and dear .   

           What is it that causes pain , 

        When for a second you look away ? 

          Why do I feel that in my mind , 

       A vague picture of these eyes lay !
